Abstract

|
Familial benign chronic pemphigus is a relatively rare disease characterized by localized recurrent eruptions of grouped vesicles and exudative lesions involving the neck, groin and axillae, singly or in combination with similar lesions in the
intertriginous areas. There are no systemic manifestations but chronicity and pruritic lesions creates a significant social and psychological handicap to those afflicted.
Authors present a case of familial benign chronic pemphigus in a 58 years old man. He has suffered from recurrent vesicles, fissures and crust formations on axillae, genitocrural and perianal areas. Histopathologic findings, from vesicular
eruption
of
the crural area, showed suprabasal cleavage with acantholysis and villi formation. The lesions were improved by treatments of systemic steroid, antibiotcs and topical steroid.
